This is one of my experiments. When I was looking for the right font choice for a project, I wanted to compare different fonts in natural way. I wanted to move the fonts around and change orders and easily hide fonts I don’t want to use. This is like how you can compare different printed photographs on a table, shuffling them and putting different photos next to each other. I couldn’t find a tool that does this, so I created one. Using jQuery it was quite easy to get it working the way I needed it.
Now a few months later I decided to make this webapp useable in a broader context. I still limit the fonts to the ones on the server, but you can change the text, the size of the text and a few other options. I also made it work in more browsers, as I originally build it for webkit (Google Chrome and Safari). It works in all modern browsers now, but webkit still seems to handle bigger numbers of fonts better.
Later I can complete the system by allowing custom fonts and even saving sessions. For now it stays an experiment.
